I was born in Winston Salem, NC in 1976....blah blah blah I was that kid in school that never paid attention or even showed up for class. Quite the troublemaker...I spent all of my time drawing and listening to music that my parents hated. I remember drawing on my friends arms in middle school. I would sleeve them out with an ink pen, while sitting in class. I didn't even think then that I would become a tattooist.

I went through my rebellion of my parents and of all things that stood for authority. I got kicked out of school numerous times. Always fighting someone or something. We were the bad kids. We did drugs, we skipped school, we had guns, we were fucking dumb.

I tried to take art class in school. it didn't work out for me. The teacher didn't see the potential i had. She hated everything I drew and she ridiculed me for it. I didn't want to draw a bowl of fruit! I wanted to draw skulls and demons and fire. This was back in the late 80's and early 90's so my influences were what you saw in the tat mags. People like Paul Booth and GUy Aitchison, Jack Rudy and Gil Monte. It was an era that was a transition of styles in the tattoo industry. So it was cool to watch these fresh new styles come about.

I started to work construction when I was 17 years old. I did that for a lil while until 1995 when I walked into the first tattoo shop allowed to open in Winston-Salem city limits. Afterlife Tattoo Studio. That's where I met Shane Irvin. I showed him my sketch book and he gave me a job as an apprentice. The awesome thing they call an apprenticeship. Slave labor in trade for a career. Even trade I suppose...I have nothing but love for Shane though. I stayed there for a year or so and then I moved to Greensboro. The tattoo scene was a lil more wide open.

I started work for Tic Toc @ Forever Yours Tattoo. then i moved around from shop to shop. I landed a job with Little John @ Carolina Tattoo. And i've been with John off and on for almost 8 years. I love working for John and i intend on staying with him for a long time. It's family. La familia.

I do alot of custom work and I try to talk people into nice unique tattoos. Instead of pin the tail on the tattoo flash. The work that you see on here is only a small portion of my portfolio.

I recently won Tattoo Artist of the Year at the 10th annual North Carolina Tattoo Convention. You can catch me at alot of the conventions on the east coast, and maybe soon on the west. So if you're interested in getting some work then contact me.
